Aquila teams up with MM Design to use Google SketchUp

When Aquila asked MM Design of Sheffield to redesign their website, provide dynamic content management and SEO they didn’t realise the design company would also come up with a way of improving their sales process.

UsingĀ Google SketchUp MM Design produced a series of 3D Diagrams for the website which can be seen here.

Not only were these diagrams accurate renderings of the flexible tented canopies but using Google SketchUp MM Design was also able to demonstrate how the structure could be shown in any virtual or real-life situation. Aquila has now been provided with a number of 3D models of their shelters which means that during the sales process they can take a picture of a customers site and overlay it with an accurate rendering of how the completed installation will look. SketchUp also allows the original design to be changed for shape and colour as customer requirements change.

The software was tested using the latest Aquila installation forĀ Wymondham High School. Four 5.5 metre square canopies were built and the picture below shows the accuracy of using SketchUp to overlay on to the completed installation.
